Chinese smartphone manufacturers Xiaomi have recently announced that it is venturing into the world of laptops by launching the Mi Notebook Air. This laptop has been inspired by the MacBook. For now only the release date in China has been revealed. The worldwide launch is expected soon. The Mi Notebook Air sports a 13.3 Inch sccreen and is powered by a 2.3GHz Intel Core i5 6200U processor. It is packed with 8GB DDR4 RAM, a 256GB hard disk that can be expanded by a SATA SSD slot. It also features an Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphic card. It weighs just 1.28 kilos and Xiaomi claims that the notebook with have a battery life of approximately 9.5 hours. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3 Inch version is expected to retail at $750 (RMB 4999) and the 12.5 Inch model is expected to retail at $525 (RMB 3499). The 12.5 Inch version is powered by Intel Core M3 and 4GB RAM. It has 128GB hard disk space and weighs just 1.07 kilos. This notebook promises a battery life of 11.5 hours.
Both notebooks will be powered by Windows 10 and they can also be paired to a Mi Fitness Band, that enables the user to unlock the notebook remotely, similar to an Apple watch.
